Mattie launched this nonprofit to address the need for adequate healthcare and address the critical problem of dropouts for students now expanding to young adults in college and target population being pregnant/parenting teens. Teenage Incentive Program, was founded in 1995 by Mattie M. Mason, BSN, RN, a dedicated maternal-child nurse with a heart for serving women, children, and teens. With experience in neonatal care, nursing education, and home health, Mattie launched this program to serve the underserved in the community; the mothers and families in Houston with a specific focus on teens.

What began as a small vision quickly expanded. As Mattie became one of the first nurses trained in the Children and Pregnant Women (CPW) Case Management Program by 1993, New Life became an approved CPW provider for Houston/Harris County. It was then that the vision to help the community was birthed. Teenage Incentive Program, Inc. was founded and has exploded since then in the public school system and through out the community, further extending support to pregnant and parenting teens.

For over three decades, New Life has provided trusted care coordination, maternal-child health services, and education to countless families. Today we continue our impact through events and education to empower at-risk youth and promote health equity throughout the community.
